Beverly Pepper Amphisculpture 2018 è un documentario che racconta l’opera di land art donata dall’artista statunitense alla città dell’Aquila, opera collegata al cantiere di restauro e recupero della Basilica di Collemaggio e dell’adiacente Parco del Sole.
Il documentario inizia dal racconto dell’artista nel suo studio a Todi, tra strumenti di lavoro, primi bozzetti e modellini, testimoni del nascere dell’idea e dell’opera. In parallelo, le immagini del Parco del Sole illustrano la trasformazione del luogo e il costruirsi dell’opera.
Il progetto di Beverly Pepper è un’opera d’arte molto coraggiosa, soprattutto per il significato e per il rapporto con la città.

Beverly Pepper Amphisculpture 2018 is a documentary about the work of land art, donated by the American artist to the city of L'Aquila, a work connected to the restoration and recovery of the Basilica of Collemaggio and the adjacent Parco del Sole.

Il racconto dei 3 anni dell’evento che ha portato il jazz nelle terre colpite dai terremoti, a L’Aquila con il grande evento del 2015, L’aquila e Amatrice con un evento diffuso in tutta Italia nel 2016, e poi nel 2017 con 4 eventi nelle regioni colpite dai terremoti del centro Italia.
Un progetto visionario, quello di portare la scena del jazz italiano a L'aquila, in un solo giorno dentro una città-cantiere.
Decine di piazze e strade occupate da un esercito di musicisti e pubblico fusi senza soluzione di continuità, in un contesto surreale e silente fino a poche ore prima.
La rottura di un'ideale "quarta parete" con il mondo dello spettacolo.

3 years of the event that brought italian jazz to the lands affected by earthquakes, in L'Aquila with the big event of 2015, L'aquila and Amatrice with an all around Italy in 2016, and then in 2017 with 4 events in the regions hit by earthquakes in central Italy.
A visionary project, that of bringing the Italian jazz scene to L'aquila, in a single day in a city-site.
Dozens of squares and streets occupied by an army of musicians and audience merged seamlessly, in a surreal and silent context until a few hours before.

Il documentario “Le Anime Sante” segue il recupero di uno dei monumenti più importanti della città dell’Aquila, simbolo del terremoto del 2009.
Dalla sua costruzione, iniziata dieci anni dopo il terremoto del 1703 e prolungatasi per oltre un secolo, alla nuova distruzione e alla rinascita, resa possibile dalla capacità delle maestranze operanti in cantiere e dalla collaborazione delle scuole di restauro italiane e francesi.

The documentary "Le Anime Sante" follows the reconstruction of one of the most important monuments of the city of L'Aquila, symbol of the 2009 earthquake.
From its construction, which began ten years after the earthquake of 1703 and continued for over a century, to the new destruction and rebirth, made possible by the ability of the workers working on site and by the collaboration of the Italian and French restoration schools.
