Beverly Pepper Amphisculpture 2018 è un documentario che racconta l’opera di land art donata
dall’artista statunitense alla città dell’Aquila, opera collegata al cantiere
di restauro e recupero della Basilica di Collemaggio e all’adiacente Parco del Sole.
Il documentario prende forma dal racconto dell’artista nel suo studio a Todi, tra strumenti di lavoro,
primi bozzetti e modellini, testimoni del nascere dell’idea e dell’opera. In parallelo, le immagini del Parco del Sole
illustreranno la trasformazione del luogo e il costruirsi dell’opera.
Il progetto di Beverly Pepper è un’opera d’arte molto coraggiosa, soprattutto
per il significato e per il rapporto che avrà con la città. Un’idea artistica che,
adattandosi al luogo, in delicato equilibrio, adattandolo, lo di-segna in forme nuove.
