The film reportage of the 88th National Assembly of the Alpini troops
The National Assembly of the Alpini is a living tale, a unique event that is renewed every year, of an Italy united in a hat thick with history and honor. The Alpini d’Italia returned to L’Aquila May 15-17, 2015, organizing the 88th National Assembly, in the capital city where so many gave their contributions of help and solidarity after the April 6, 2009 earthquake. Under the motto “REMEMBRANCE, RECONSTRUCTION, DUTY,” Italy with Abruzzo, L’Aquila and the Alpini began the celebrations of the centenary of World War I, at the foot of the Gran Sasso mountain, the historic site of so many training marches of young men serving in the glorious Battagliane.
The report attached to the A.N.A. Abruzzi’s report on the 88th National Assembly of the Alpini is a visual memory of an exceptional event that bears witness to this great embrace of the A.N.A. to a wounded community that is slowly getting back on its feet. The march of the Alpini to L’Aquila is a story that deserves to be told, the story of a great Adunata.

“I saw a man: he wore a black pen. I saw him drinking, having fun, singing and with others parading. It was a moment: the earth shook, the houses seemed to be made of paper; everyone fled. I saw only one man: he was wearing a black pen. He ran through the rubble; he dug, rescued, saved. It rained, it snowed but the man with the black pen worked. Months, years have passed but the man with the black pen I have not forgotten.”
